Sight Reading Practice
Strategies to practice Sightreading
1) Always stand strong
2) Good full breaths-from the diaphragm not shoulders
3) Be sure to practice difficult sections
- you will first sing audition cuts from TWO of the assigned songs. Then you will switch to the Sight Reading folder on the music stand.
- The recording will play the "broken" tonic chord (Do, Mi, So, Mi, Do, Low So, Do), followed by Do. Be sure to sing with the broken chord. You will then have 30 seconds to practice the Sight Reading exercise . The tonic chord will be played a SECOND time, (be sure you are singing) and THEN you will begin singing it off for the judging part. :)
- Be sure you are singing during your practice time!!!
